More Creatures in Spore than in Real Life

It’s amazing what people do for games and for the things they are passionate about. Incase you don’t know Spore it’s an upcoming game conceptualized by Will Wright the creator of hits like the Sims and Sim City. In the game you are able to make your creatures and they will be placed in a virtual world where you can advance their civilization, fight them agains other civilizations and yada yada.

At its press conference just now, EA announced that over 1.8 million creatures have been created by people using the Spore Creature Creator — that’s more than the number of known species in the world (1.5 million)! The Creature Creator has been available less than a month, meaning all of those creatures were created in just that amount of time. This is an especially staggering number considering the real game in which these creatures are used, Spore, isn’t even available yet.

Spore creator Will Wright said that EA was hoping to get 100,000 creatures uploaded by players with the Creature Editor by September. They hit that number in 22 hours. Wright also showed off some of his favorite fan created creatures on screen.

EA also announced that National Geographic put together a documentary on evolution using Spore that will air the week the game ships. This documentary will be included in the Galactic Edition of the game.

Trying Ragnarok Online Once More

Okay, I feel pretty nostalgic and I’d like to try out ragnarok online once more. Since I invested money on valkyrie already I figured that I should be playing on the server.

Anyone who want’s to join me in my venture feel free to post here. I’d like to have some comrades with me and I am also asking a couple of friends to join me.

Ragnarok after 4 years still owns my heart. I have tried alot of other mmorpg’s but there is something in Ragnarok Online that just keeps me coming back. I don’t know what it is, really.

Blizzard announces Diablo 3

Okay, I failed to post but did already know about the blizzard announcement of Starcraft 2 (which was a few months ago) and Diablo 3 just recently.

With Blizzards reputation and the countless hours and lunch money that we wasted in Internet Cafes just to finish that act win Diablo 2, they once again bring us the two games that will waste our money and probably destroy our futures. But what the heck? All in the good name of fun I should say!
