One Gigabite Now and twenty years ago
Compare the technologies in the past and now. The really big one is one of those tape reels that you find in video casettes curled up into that drum roll.. Imagine how long it would take to look for one file? 
The computer would need to read all of those reels to look for that one file..
Now take a look at the technology now. It only shows that technology is getting more and more compact, smaller, faster and more efficient. If earth lasts another hundred years and the pace of development of technology today remains then we’d have 1 terrabyte the size of one gigabite cards today..
